Sheet Metal Workers - Local 73

 

 

 

Night School Classes Winter/Spring, 2012

 

Sheet Metal Workers Local #73 Apprentice & Journeymen’s Training Fund will be offering night school classes for members of Local #73.  Classes will be conducted at the Sheet Metal Workers Local #73 Training Facility located at 2701 Van Buren, Bellwood. You must register, in person, at the Training Facility starting at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 02, 2012. A current dues receipt must be presented at registration. Registration is via lottery and no early registration will be accepted. The following classes will be offered:

 OSHA 30- March 06-April 05, 2012-Tues/Thurs 4:30-7:30 p.m.

 This is a thirty hour safety awareness class.  Upon completion you will receive the OSHA-30 Certification Card. 

Crane Signal Person Safety Training- March 1, 2012- Thursday 4:30-8:30 p.m.

Course fulfills the requirements of a Qualified Signaler under the new OSHA CFR 1926 Subpart CC. for Cranes & Derricks Rule.  A Signaling Student Wallet Card and Signaling Certificate will be issued upon successfully completing the class.  This training is required by OSHA to Signal and work safely with Cranes.                   

Fire & Life Safety Level 1- February 14-Feb. 23, 2012- Tues/Thurs 4:30-7:30 p.m.  

Course covers competency in installation, inspection and maintenance of fire, smoke, combination fire/smoke dampers and ceiling dampers in HVAC systems.

 Fire & Life Safety Level 2- April 17-May 03, 2012- Tues/Thurs 4:30-7:30 p.m.  

 The purpose of this course is to provide instruction on the inspection, service, and follow-up inspection/testing program of mechanical smoke control and smoke management systems.

 Prerequisites:

This class is a continuation of Fire Life Safety Level 1 and is open to those who have completed           Fire Life Safety Level 1.        

Advanced AutoCAD-February 13-May 02, 2012- Mon/Wed 4:30-7:30 p.m.   

Class has a $50 registration fee required at registration.  It is a 12-week class that will be held 2 nights a week for 3 hours with the first class beginning at 4:30 p.m. This class includes:                                                                                           

 Prerequisites:

Intermediate AutoCAD – This class is a continuation of the Detailing curriculum and is open to those who have completed intermediate AutoCad.  Limited seating is available.  Please call the Training Center with any questions.
